Mistakes and Fixes

Updated: Jun 18, 2021

We have all made mistakes, done things that we sometimes regret, or would like to jump back in time to use that superpower of knowledge that we have gained with age to fix our past selves up to shape. The bummer is that time travel does not exist; what we do have is the power to change our future, to dictate and shape our path.

Here are guidelines on how this can be done:

  1. Be Aware

To fix a problem, we have to be aware of the fact that it exists. Awareness can be gained through paying attention to the patterns in our life or the things that we notice around us. For instance, I (Tobi) have a problem with evading small tasks. The only way I could fix this is by paying enough attention to myself and the effects of this habit, to know that this is an issue.

2. Reflect

The next step is to reflect on the situation. Some reflection questions that would be good to keep in mind are: Why is this an issue, why would it be essential to fix this, how can I fix this and what is the next course of action ?

3. Gather relevant Knowledge

I like the saying: knowledge is power. It is essential to gather knowledge from professionals or people who are experienced in that area. For instance, I love watching YouTube videos, and that is a way in which I gain knowledge. It is okay to acknowledge that you do not know something and go on the path to find the expertise required.

4. Implement

What is knowledge without action? Knowledge? Yes. Practical implementation is a must to change habits that do not serve us. All the work that has been done up until this point would be irrelevant if we do not apply it. I like to keep myself accountable on matters like this by writing my goals down to remind myself of them.

P.S we hope this was impactful. See you in the next post.
