Hello Poddies,
How are you feeling? How is your heart doing? I wanted to write about anxiety today as this is something that I have recently been dealing with and I have also noticed that a lot of people are dealing with this same sort of issue. Could this be due to the year coming to an end? Could it be due to the Covid-19 restrictions or just the climate of 2020 in general? Let break this down, with some tips on how to deal with your anxiety!
What Is Anxiety:
Let me start by saying that anxiety appears different for every and what works for one person might not work for the other. According to WebMD, anxiety is your brain’s way of reacting to stress and alerting you of potential danger ahead. So basically think about your body's fight or flight response to stress or danger. Your brain is trying to protect you by eliciting that response.
General Tips On How To Deal With Anxiety:
Again anxiety is a very complex topic. Under the bracket of anxiety disorders, they are many disorders such as panic attacks and generalized anxiety disorder. I recommend talking to your local health professional about this or take a look at WebMD for a more in-depth look at all the disorders.

Nonetheless, I am going to go ahead and give you tips that have worked for me personally.
1. Going outside: I find that going outside and breathing in that good oxygen allows me to put things in perspective. Being around nature gives me a lot of peace and I think it might do the same for you. Give this a try, do not underestimate the power of the outdoors!
2. Meditating: Quitting my mind and putting all of my many thoughts to rest sometimes does the trick. This is a great way to take a step back from everything. You can find guided meditations on youtube or use apps like Headspace(https://www.headspace.com/) to help you through this journey
3. Journalling: Writing my feeling out and putting it out there helps me deal with the root issue. This could also be a method by which you could vent and let out some steam.
I hope this piece of writing has added some value to your life.
Until next time...
