Hello, pod,
Long time no post?
I watched a video by Elle Ringrose; it inspired me to write this blog. Not because I've mastered the art of not living paycheck to paycheck but because I believe we can all use some help.
I want you to stop for a minute and think about the last time you spent money on something you did not need, such as takeout, retail therapy, or that new iPhone.
No, seriously, I want you to go back to that time and think about the kind of emotions you were feeling. I will use myself as a guinea pig (Alejandra).
I tend to overspend and buy things I do not need when I am sad, stressed, or bored. I do not do this often but it happens. I will go out of my way to buy takeaway, even though I have food in the house, because I am sad, or it will somewhat make me feel better. Or wait even better, somehow spending this money will make me less anxious about having no money. Does this sound familiar? I can't possibly be the only one.
TRUTH BOMB: the ultimate truth is you DO NOT NEED to spend money. A motto I live by is
Our thoughts> emotions> actions
That is our premise for this weeks blog. Here is how to stop living pay check to pay check and take back your life.
1. CONTROL YOUR THOUGHTS
by controlling your thoughts you not only have the power to change your life but you can control your emotions.
2. CONTROL YOUR EMOTIONS
when your emotions are under control, you are more likely to make better and more rational decisions which ultimately affect your pocket
3. CONTROL YOUR ACTIONS
by controlling your actions, saying no to yourself and delaying gratification will eventually enable you to save some money.
Until Next Time,
Your Friends Behind a Screen
